Need help with bleaching hair with hydrogen peroxide?

I have black brown hair, and I'm about to dye it purple, but I wanted to put streaks in my hair. I can't get to a store or anything so I have to use hydrogen peroxide. I don't discern how to do this, and I don't know how long to leave it in. Someone please help?
Peroxide is chiefly really hard to use and does usually turn your hair orange...of positively so does bleaching your hair at a salon. So I would say to make a sort of paste out of the peroxide and some baking soda and then put it in your hair.
