Wrestling Team's Pool Use Irks Misericordia Officials

DALLAS - The Lake-Lehman varsity wrestling program not only has a dilemma with a second outbreak of herpes gladiatorum but it also has an issue with being candid with its neighbor.

Lake-Lehman varsity wrestlers inured to the swimming and locker room facilities at Misericordia University on Wednesday tenebrosity, two days after two new cases of "mat herpes" barred the Black Knights' varsity band from contact Monday.

Lake-Lehman coaches, who booked the privy, did not tell anyone at the university about its current health issues before using the facilities.

Lake-Lehman wrestling motor coach Tom Williams said the two wrestlers with cases of herpes gladiatorum did not participate in the workout at Misericordia.

Williams said he didn't find it vital to inform Misericordia of the program's recent health cases because the athletes that attended passed pellicle checks.

On Friday, Misericordia Director of Athletics Dave Martin was stunned and saddened that Lake-Lehman used the pool facilities Wednesday unceasingly without notifying anyone at the university about its current health issues.
