When you evaporate alcohol, peroxide, water and vegetable oil. How long is the fan suppose to be on?

by Veronica | Posted in Chemistry

I have a skill project and I need to start it because it's due the 28th of Jan. Well I'm using alcohol, peroxide, water and vegetable oil. I don't grasp how long am I supposed to leave the fan on for it to dry off or how long is the fan suppose to be blowing on it.

What an incredibly empty question. The alcohol will evaporate first. The water will evaporate second and the peroxide will dispel third (although you might not be able to tell a difference because normal "peroxide" contains only 3% hydrogen peroxide).

How Sea Water Could Corrode Nuclear Fuel

Japan acclimatized seawater to cool nuclear fuel at the stricken Fukushima-Daiichi atomic plant after the tsunami in March 2011 — and that was probably the best motion to take at the time, says Professor Alexandra Navrotsky of the University of California, Davis.

But Navrotsky and others have since discovered a new way in which seawater can corrode atomic fuel, forming uranium compounds that could potentially travel eat one's heart out distances, either in solution or as very small particles. The research team published its industry Jan. 23 in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

“This is a stunner that has not been considered before,” said Alexandra Navrotsky, distinguished professor of ceramic, world and environmental materials chemistry. “We don’t know how much this will increase the sort of corrosion, but it is something that will have to be considered in future.”

Japan used seawater to evade a much more serious accident at the Fukushima-Daiichi plant, and Navrotsky said, to her erudition, there is no evidence of long-distance uranium contamination from the plant.
