What are the benefits, drawbacks and obstacles in sustaining a hydrogen conservation?

I am reviewing for finals in chemistry and need some help on clarifying this one, thanks!!!

for a few moments studied fuel cells in cars last semester- easiest way to get hydrogen is splitting it from unsophisticated water but this uses electricity. when you combine them again they produce tension but less than what you put in initially.
