ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 25 -- Synergistic States Patent no. 8,101,117, issued on Jan. 24, was assigned to Corning Inc. (Corning, N.Y.).
"Controlled Gas Pore Formers in Extruded Ware" was invented by William Peter Addiego (Big Flats, N.Y.) and Christopher Raymond Glose (Painted Locate, N.Y.).
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The current invention provides compositions and methods for producing porous ceramic articles. The compositions and methods comprise a ceramic See predecessor batch comprising an organic peroxide pore forming agent where the pore forming proxy is an organo-adduct of hydrogen peroxide and an organic compound or an organic peroxide of the general rubric R-O-O-R'. The organic peroxide pore forming agent is stable during extrusion and other methods for forming a rural body and does not decompose until the green body is dried."
The patent was filed on May 30, 2008, under Reference No. 12/129,959.
