peroxide??

what does the per- dismal in this chemical formula- sodium peroxide??- th answer clearly is Na^2O^2.... which i don't entirally understand???

plzz help...

I'm mignonne sure that the 'per' means that all of the available sites are taken up with the sodium... like 'perfluorohexane' has fluorines in domicile of every hydrogen. Hydrogen peroxide is H2O2, so sodium peroxide is the Na2O2...

It is often said that over-the-disc medications should not be used in pets.
