The acquisition of the LFP technology patent rights will support BASF’s accepted efforts in the production of Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese (NCM) cathode materials for relevancy in lithium-ion batteries.

The Senior Vice President of Battery Materials allotment, BASF, Ralf Meixner, stated that through the agreement, BASF has become the only fellowship in the world to receive a license to manufacture and sell LIB materials. Thus, BASF will be competent to meet the materials requirements for lithium-ion battery applications.
