Use of oxygen in these patients is justified by studies showing a mortality help. However, the use of oxygen in other patients with advanced COPD has not understandably been established. Want-basis studies assessing not only mortality but also other outcomes that are vital to patients and physicians such as dyspnea, condition station, and exert perspicacity are lacking. This article reviews the accessible studies of the use of supplemental oxygen in patients with less primitive hypoxemia at shut-eye during the day, hypoxemia occurring only at unceasingly, and hypoxemia occurring only with practise.
