is using baking soda and peroxide to white teeth going to take off the enamel?

I don't have dental cover to go to the dentists office, but would really love whiter teeth. I heard brushing with baking soda and peroxide categorically works, but does it do harm to teeth with cavities, or take the enamel off?

My first try at a haiku, is it correct and what do you think?
